Using your knowledge of genetics - transmission, insertion and selection, analyze the following data regarding GMO's. You will also need to weigh the benefits and costs these crops create for the environment. Using your extensive knowledge of both genes and environmentalism along with the following information, choose a side - pro labeling or anti labeling.

 

Once you have established your position you must help to dispell the disquiet in your neighbourhood. City Hall has decided to hold an information night and they have selected you and your group to present your side to the public. They have asked you to create the following:

 

  • Information Forum - a brief 10 minute information session on why you believe your choice, pro or anti labeling to be the correct choice of action.

  • A PSA -commercial, poster or other source (i.e. Facebook page, daily tweets)  to get the word out for your platform.  

  • A Rebuttal - to conclude the nights events you must challenge the opposing side. Here you must, using scientific reasoning, show the weakness and benefits of the opposing side. The end goal however is still to support your platform and encourage your local community to get on board with your platform.

 

Still feeling like this is not enough, you feel obliged to write a letter to your local MLA in hopes of compelling them to vote your way and to encourage other government officals to do the same. In your letter you want to urge your MLA to stand with you and to push for the change you have backed in your City Hall meeting.
